{creating pumpkin lights}

So my Little Monster keeps telling me we need to get the house ready for Halloween.  Apparently the house needs it’s own costume.  {insert eye roll here}  I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love how her little brain works; but I am not one of those people who likes to decorate for every little holiday.  Also, it’s not that I don’t like Halloween; but I don’t love it.  Christmas is the holiday I love to decorate for!  Mainly because I love me some Christmas lights!

In order to please my tiny tyrant I came up with a cute do it yourself decoration.

All you need to create these are…

Not too bad right?!  The only thing I had to go out and purchase were the orange ping pong balls, I don’t keep those on hand.  Also, the balls can be popped off the lights when you’re done so you can use the lights for Christmas still!

I got a package of twenty-four balls, you can do more or less it really depends on the length of your strand of lights.  First thing I did was draw the pumpkin faces, with sharpie, on each of the ping pong balls.  There are doubles, and probably triples, of some of the faces; but there was no way I was coming up with twenty-four different faces.

Here’s a look at one of the faces!  Pretty cute ay?

After coloring all the faces, it was time for the cutting.  I just cut X’s into the tops of all of the ping pong balls.

Once the X’s are cut you just pop the light through into the ball and there you go!  Your last step is to find somewhere to hang your cute little pumpkins.

I hung mine outside on our front porch!

And here they are lit up!

Where will you hang your’s?!
