This week’s cute little board book was…
Hug Machine by Scott Campbell.*
It’s a super cute story about a boy who is a hug machine! He hugs anything and everything!
A hug is such a good way to show you love someone!
And the kids definitely miss being able to hug Daddy!
Some how, Mommy’s hugs just aren’t the same.
Don’t we all just want to scream HUG sometimes like this cute hug machine?!
Since we miss hugging Daddy we decided to make him some hugs that can be sent in the mail!
All you need is…
We rolled out the paper on the floor and took turns laying down with our arms spread out wide as if running in for a big hug.
We then traced each other onto the paper.
Apparently, get traced tickles. A lot of giggles during this part of the process.
The kids then spent some time coloring themselves in.
We rolled them up and put them in a box to send our hugs to Daddy.
But even the hug machine needs to refuel sometimes. What does a hug machine run on? What EVERYONE runs on – PIZZA! We kind of love pizza in this house, so we relate to this little hug machine.
After all our hug gathering for Daddy we had to refuel too! So we made some pizza for dinner.
Now, we are all set to hug everyone again!
Hopefully all the hugging tires them out and they sleep soundly tonight!
Six books down, six weeks down!
