{craft one – a stuffed animal zoo}

Congratulations to Christine for guessing the quick craft correctly and winning a Starbucks gift card!

Here is what the final project looks like!

Lions, tigers, and bears! Oh my!

See what I did there?!

It’s a stuffed animal zoo!

Want the quick how to on this cute craft?!

All you need are…

{quick crafts with BC} step one

I rolled this really easy to use wall paper from Target out and stuck it to the insides of the boards for the bookshelf. I had to be careful for bubbles; but this stuff was awesome because I could pull it back up and stick it again if I messed up on the first go! or second or third

I liked the idea of a pop of something on the inside that will only show when the stuffed animals are escaping!

It would also be cute on the outside! However, I liked the subtlety of putting it on the inside for this particular quick craft.

{quick crafts with BC} step two

I put this book shelf together and just skipped the step of putting the actual shelves in, so I was left with just the frame. I picked this bookshelf to fit the space I was working with, you can definitely do this with bigger bookshelves!

{quick crafts with BC} step three

I used my drill to put holes in the top and bottom of the bookshelf frame. I knew that the bungee cord I bought was 3/8″ so it was easy to pick the appropriate drill bit to use. I spaced them out so that there would be a cord about every three inches.

Yes I realize the bungee cord I used isn’t the one I pictured as a clue on Wednesday. I didn’t like the options that I could find; but last minute managed to find what I wanted online and got it delivered Thursday night. Just in time to finish up the project before this post. Because it is so much fun to wait until the last minute for things. Said no one ever.

{quick crafts with BC} step four

I then cut the bungee cord into three foot sections, slipped it through the holes, and tied knots at the ends. I am a little worried about my knot tying skills. Or, more accurately, my children’s skills at being destructive and therefore untying said knots.

I guess, worst case scenario, some of the animals get loose!

{quick crafts with BC} step five

Then i herded all of the stuffed animals that were strewn about the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, and the bedrooms and caged them up!

Isn’t it cute?!

Little Miss is so excited to have her very own personal zoo right in her closet. Hopefully *fingers crossed* this gets her excited about being a good little zookeeper and actually putting her animals away. We’ll see how that goes…

Confession:  not all of the animals would fit; but I knew that going in! I didn’t have a ton of space to work with and I was dumb and didn’t take measurement before going to the store and buying said bookshelf so i erred on the side of caution and bought small knowing I could easily add on to the zoo later! I mean, who doesn’t love some construction at the zoo?!

What will your stuffed animal zoo look like?! What kind of animals will be in your zoo?! Do you think my littles will be good, little zoo keepers now?!

Was this fun?! Did you like it?! Was it too hard?! Too easy?! Should I stop asking questions?!

Let me know your thoughts so I can change it up if need be!

Thanks for playing!
