Congratulations to Lainey for guessing the quick craft correctly and winning a Starbucks gift card!
Here is what the final project looks like!
It’s a craft time caddy!
Want the quick how to on this cute way to store craft supplies?!
All the supplies you need are…
- a shower caddy
- travel soap & toothbrush containers*
- three plastic cups*
- a wooden letter
- hot glue gun
- and all the craft supplies!
You can find all of these things at TARGET!
Who doesn’t love an excuse to go to Target?!
But, in case you don’t want to go spend hours getting sucked into the awesomeness that is Target, I have done the leg work for you! Click on any of the links above and it will take you right to the supplies!
*These things are optional; but they made it look so pretty and organized and your OCD side will thank you! No? Just me? OK, moving on then…
I painted the wooden letters the little’s favorite colors. Purple for Little Miss and blue for Cuddle Bug.
While they were drying I heated up the hot glue gun and was ready to stick the letters to the outside of the shower caddies. This way when they are in the cupboard they can easily see which caddy belongs to them.
With the letter secured it is time to prepare your containers! To create more organization within the caddy I added some cups, soap containers, and a toothbrush container.
I put three cups on one side of the caddy.
Then, on the other side, I put four travel soap containers and one travel toothbrush holder.
Doesn’t colorful organization just make your heart happy?!
I sorted through my crazy stock pile of craft supplies and decided to use the three cups for the following craft supplies:
- one to hold some pipe cleaners & feathers.
- one to hold popsicle sticks.
- one to hold the watercolors & paintbrushes.
I thought putting the paint in a cup meant it could double as the water cup when it comes time to paint! This way they don’t have to ask mom to get them their cup and water. It is all right there!
For the travel containers I decided to fill them with the following craft supplies:
- one to hold some crayons.
- one to hold some pompoms & felt shapes.
- one to hold some googley eyes & jewels.
- one to hold some foam stickers & regular stickers.
Then for the travel toothbrush holder I sharpened a couple pencils and put them inside.
The cups and travel containers are not necessary; but they definitely help keep things in their place.
We will see if that lasts once the littles get at them…
I took some giant sheets of paper that my mom gave me boxes and boxes of and cut them down to 5×7 rectangles.
I cut up A LOT!
I do not plan on keeping all of the paper in their caddies; but I cut a bunch up so that I am not doing it on a weekly basis.
I rounded up all of the supplies and filled the craft time caddy to the brim!
I threw in a glue stick and some memo pads as well! And will get some scissors eventually too.
Added bonus: with a bit of tweaking on supplies, you can easily make this a road trip craft time caddy!
Doesn’t it just make you want to do all the crafts?!
This mom is so prepared for the summertime boredom!
I plan on restocking it weekly, or twice a week depending on how crafty they are feeling!
What are your little’s favorite craft supplies?! Do you think this will make craft time so much easier?! Will you make one for your little?!
Let me know your thoughts! I love hearing from you guys!
