{work trip wednesdays: Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too}

This week’s book is…

Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too

Nelly Gnu and Daddy Too by Anna Dewdney.*

Such a sweet book about Nelly and her Daddy. In this story it talks about how Nelly’s Daddy can do anything and it tells about a fun project they are doing together.

Yes, Little Miss’ buttons are messed up in the first photo of her. This is what happens when you let her dress herself! Although, I will say, this was a step up from having it on backwards initially. She was too busy watching PJ Masks to realize she had put her dress on backwards…

I asked our littles what sort of things Daddy has helped them make…

Little Miss – My bird feeder. Helped me build my legos.

Cuddle Bug – Built legos with me.

I asked them to tell me about a project they would like to do with Daddy when he comes home…

Little Miss – I want to paint an animal thing with him.

Cuddle Bug – I  want him to help me make a snake pancake.

After asking for a bit more detail from Little Miss, I deduced that she means painting those little figurines you can buy at the store with a little thing of paints.

So, for this project, I won’t be having them do something and sending to Daddy; but, instead, I am going to prepare for them to do the project. This way they can actually do the project with Daddy when he gets home!

So for Little Miss’ I will order the following supplies…

A set of figurines, there are so many options! Pick what your little loves best! Some extra paint because let’s face it, those tiny little “buckets” of paint are not going to cut it. Also, a set of paint brushes because you can never have too many paint brushes!

Then, we will be all set to do these as a family or, if she prefers, just her and Daddy!

For Cuddle Bug’s snake pancake project all we need is…

Pancake mix and the other necessary ingredients with some green food coloring is all you need! I think… not exactly sure what Bug has in mind for this. Mix it all up and then we can cook up a big, green snake pancake for big breakfast when Daddy is home!

This is making me even more impatient for this Work Trip to be over!

Twenty-four books down, twenty-four weeks down!

Have you read this book?!

Do your littles love doing projects with Daddy?!
