{manic mom-days}

{coming home sick}

So, apparently, the universe wants the school nurse and I to be BFFs.

That or my daughter is just extra.

Probably the latter.

We moved to this school in January and not once did I get a call from the school nurse last year. Not once.

Well, fast forward to the current school year and we’re making up for last year.

It’s the first day of school, the day before Little Bear’s birthday. I am covered in icing, the counters are covered in cookies and flour, and Little Bear is pulling at my shorts crying. Because kids.

And my phone rings.

It’s the school.

It’s the first day of school and I am getting a call from the school nurse!

Fast forward to day two. I am running around trying to come up with Plan C for Little Bear’s party because nothing was working the way I needed it to. While simultaneously packing for our trip to New York.

And my phone rings.

It’s the school.

It’s now the second day of school and I am getting ANOTHER call from the school nurse!

We are now in week five and I have gotten more calls from the nurse (who probably has my number on speed dial) for…

  • a sore throat
  • a head ache
  • falling and bumping her head
  • a blister
  • having a pencil thrown at her

I think that is all the things…

It is going to be a long school year.

She hasn’t actually had to come home yet; but obviously not for lack of trying. Part of the calls were definitely in an attempt to get to come home while Daddy was home.

Hopefully this means now that we had to say goodbye again the calls will stop.

Hopefully.

I better keep my phone on me at all times…
