‘Tis the season of magic and of giving and of traveling to and fro across the countryside.
That is unless you live right next door to all of your loved ones.
If that’s the case, well then, I guess none of this applies to you and you can just stop reading now.
If you aren’t lucky enough to live in the same town as all of your loved ones, then chances are good that there is some amount of traveling involved during this time of year. Be it to the neighboring town or to a whole other state, either way you’re packing anything from a diaper bag to a whole suitcase.
You have to make sure you are fully stocked on diapers and bottles and formula and boobs – just kidding, obviously those don’t need to be packed packed, unless you count packing those breastfeeding boobs into a bra.
Not only do you need your usual accoutrement; but you also need to make sure your littles have their special, cute, probably matching on some level, holiday outfits.
And then you need the back up, equally special, cute, matching, holiday outfit. Because if you don’t pack that outfit then, forever documented in holiday photos, will be those stained orange leggings and lime green shirt that you keep in the car as an emergency outfit.
Now, if you have to leave the state for holidays, your packing list gets a little more intense. And needy, because obviously moms need one more needy thing in their lives.
There’s the favorite blanket and favorite stuffed animal and the traveling toys and the snacks and the books and the endless amounts of outfits. Now, in this mom’s case, multiply that by three.
Then, because it is the holidays after all, there are gifts that have to be wrapped up carefully and packed away, probably hidden from prying eyes.
On the way back you have to remember all the things you packed and then fit in all the gifts you were given. And I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
Well, there you have it, it’s been just another Manic Momday!
Who is traveling?! Where are you guys headed?!
Also, who here still has gifts to wrap?! asking for a friend…
