Merry second day of Christmas!
It’s the holiday that keeps on giving this year!
On the second day of Christmas my bookshelf gave to me
two shrinking twits,
and one big Holy Shit! moment!
For the second day of Christmas I read…
The Twits by Roald Dahl*.
Roald Dahl is one of my all time favorite childhood authors! My first of his works was The Witches* and it was love at first paragraph! I was hooked from that point on! Although, I think my all time favorite of his is, of course…
Because who doesn’t love this sweet, little bookworm?!
Anyway, the Twits are a couple who are not very nice to anyone, to include each other. They enjoy pulling practical jokes on one another, mistreating their five pet monkeys, and tricking birds right into their dinner pies! Finally, the monkeys and the birds have had enough and they team up to pull the best prank on these hateful curmudgeons.
It’s such a fun little story with a good moral for the little ones. It has his great writing style that I love so much! He sets the scene and writes his characters in such a vivid way that brings them to life in your mind.
Stay tuned for what my book shelf will bring me tomorrow!
Do you read kids’ books too?!
Are you a Roald Dahl fan?!
